Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 Cheats

Cheats in RCT3 are entered by clicking on a guest and changing their name for the desired effects. Some names can be entered multiple times, by changing the capitalization. For example, you can enter John D Rockefeller, john d rockefeller, jOhN d RocKEfEllEr, etc. This will give you $10,000 money every time.

Most Useful Cheats

John D Rockefeller: you’ll get $10,000 money instantly!

Isambard Kingdom Brunel: will fully train all of your staff. Only enter once or it could freeze your game. Some sites say this will cost $1000; in the version I recommended you download, it does not.

Frontier: your rides will never breakdown

Sam Denney: all guests will ride every coaster before leaving your park

Jon Roach: all guests will ride all non-coaster rides before leaving your park

John Wardley: removes any height restrictions when building coasters

Andrew Thomas: decreases track friction. This can become useful when importing rides from RCT1 or RCT2, as sometimes they will not run correctly.

David Braben: removes and restrictions on launch or chain lift speeds

More RCT3 Cheats

Rabbit: cover your eyes – all animals will mate! This will cause your animals to breed and have babies.

D Lean: you can use the flying camera routes editor

Guido Fawkes:  allows you to use the advanced fireworks editor (Scenery -> Firework Mixmaster -> Fireworks Display -> Add Firework Display -> Advanced Firework Editor)

David Walsh: you can hide the user interface by pressing CTRL-U while this cheat is active. Press CTRL-U to unhide them. Great for taking screenshots!

Ghost Town: no new guests will enter the park

FPS: displays frames per second in game

John Mace: this guest will pay double for rides

D Lean: Flying camera path editor

ATITech: people move quickly for 20 seconds

Mornington Crescent: this allows building shops or scenery underground (holding Shift key when placing an object to change an object’s height to make it level with an underground path)

Just For Fun Cheats

James Hunt: you get a dune buggy to drive around your park!

Atari: makes all guests laugh

Chris Sawyer: makes all guests jump for joy

Mouse: all guests look in the direction of your mouse pointer for a few seconds

Make Me Sick: makes all guests throw up and reduces nausea to zero

Atomic: explosions from roller coaster crashes will become bigger

PhotoStory: makes people near a photo spot such as rides stop and take pictures

Jonny Watts: see from a guests point of view

Unconfirmed Cheats

These are the cheats I’ve personally tested on Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 that have not worked for me. A lot of these cheats you find online have been copy and pasted across a bunch of sites without being verified. If any of these work for you, please let me know in the comments.

Simon Foster: paints pictures of rides

Alvin Swazonegger: allow large billboard movies

Katie Brayshaw: all guests wave

Big Bucks: guest has unlimited cash

A Hitchcock: makes ducks appear

Rick Griffiths: insides of all tunnels changes from rubble to sharks

Alistair Lindsay: the speed of all sound effects is changed when pausing the game and using fast and fastest speeds

M Brookes:  you can place walls and scenery items on path edges

Andrew Gillett: increases your park value, but only works on the first mission

Melanie Warn: increases guests’ happiness

Shifty: makes everyone dance

Einstein cheat: There’s been a rumor of an ‘Einstein cheat’ since the first RCT where you name the first guest e=mc2 and you’ll be given a boost to research after a period of time. This unfortunately is not true.

Advanced Cheats & Tips

Increasing Ride Popularity

Close any old ride which is starting to lose its popularity, open construction and delete one part of the track then build it back. Guests will think it’s a brand new ride and will likely be willing to pay more for it.

Location, Location, Location

When building shops and stalls, you can a LOT more money from everything you build by putting it in the correct spot. The best place to place shops is along your busiest paths. Food and drink stalls are great to place at the end of your park and at the exits of rides with long wait times, as your guests will come off of them hungry and thirsty. Remember to space out your stalls throughout your park.

Keep Guests in Park

No entry signs blocking the exit! Need I say more? You may be a complete skumbag if you use this, but it can become useful when you need a few more guests to complete the park goal.

Park Rating & Guest Happiness

You can hover your mouse to see what is affecting your park rating. A big part of this is how happy your guests are in your park.  To keep your guests happy, keep track of what they are thinking.  You can go to the guests’ panel, look at their thoughts and group them.  Pay attention to what a lot of guests are thinking – if they’re hungry, need to go to the bathroom, thinking the paths are gross – these have the biggest negative impact on your park rating and are fairly easy to fix.

Other ways to keep your guests happy is by hiring entertainers, having good scenery, and regularly adding new rides and attractions. Also make sure you don’t have access paths which lead to nowhere.  Guests hate feeling lost and you won’t make any money off them while they’re wandering so delete paths or use no entry signs when you can.

The amounts of rides and happy people in your park have the biggest impact on park rating. Keep up with what your guests are thinking, add new rides when you can, keep up with ride downtime and dirty paths and you should have no problems with park rating.

There are a few cheats above which can help with both of these, so if you want a little help go ahead – no one’s looking.  There are a few cheats which is supposed to directly increase park rating and guest happiness, but they have not worked for me.
